2K Apologizes for Racist Posts on Social Media!

2K Games, one of the largest video game publishers based in California has apologized after a number of its official pages were hacked. The video game publisher also apologized for the many offensive comments posted on their account.

Recently there have been a number of cyber attacks against popular video games. Lizard Squad, a notorious British hacking group claimed that they were behind the attack.

The attack was aimed at Call of Duty and Fortnite, as well as threatening the leader of the British Labor Party, Jeremy Corbyn.

This led to Lizard Squad members being reported and arrested on 15 November. On the same date, another cyber attack appeared and this time the target was one of the game publishers, namely 2K Games.

This attack led to a number of racist offensive statements being made on a number of their official social media pages. 2K Games are well known for their sports games, resulting in the annual franchise in the NBA and WWE series.

This year’s game has received more criticism than usual, with many arguing that the game is unfinished and featuring a number of glitches.

On November 15, the main Facebook page that had not been used for several years began posting racist messages. But many of his followers already suspected that the page had been hacked, so no other problems arose.

Facebook page dedicated to games WWE posted a similar message. The message remained published for several hours, until it was deleted when 2K managed to regain access to their account.

After successfully taking over the account, they posted an apology to the WWE account stating:

“Social media accounts at 2K were compromised last Friday night. Unfortunately, the material posted does not reflect the value of 2K or our partners. “

Due to this issue, 2K will likely be looking for ways to increase the security of their accounts. It is currently unknown who was behind the hack into their social media pages. It seems to be a trend that video games are becoming the subject of increasingly common cyber attacks.
