Apex Legends Less Stable With Constant 60fps In 4K/Ultra on NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti
Apex Legends has just been released and we have decided to give it a try. This game is powered by Source Engine so we were expecting a pretty smooth experience. However, it seems that Apex Legends is having a hard time running at a constant 60fps in 4K and Ultra settings on NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti.
For game testers, we used an Intel i7 4930K (overclocked at 4.2Ghz) with 16GB DDR3 RAM at 2133Mhz, NVIDIA RTX 2080Ti, Windows 10 64-bit and GeForce 418.81 drivers.
RTX2080Ti Still Struggling To Reach 60fps in Apex Legends
In 4K we are limited only by GPU us (which is in full use). Mostly we get over 65fps (sometimes it goes up to 80fps or 90fps), there are scenes where RTX2080Ti we strive to achieve 60fps.
Normally this would be fine but Apex Legends is fast shooter and you really have to keep the framerate steady and smooth. In short, we really felt the average was under 60fps.
High GPU Requirements Still Not Eligible For Apex Legends
Apex Legends doesn’t pack extensive environmental damage or interactivity and there is some resolution texture low here and there. And while the character models are well detailed, the environments look similar to what you’d expect.
In general, this Game does not show anything”wow-ishso I’m not sure that justifies the high GPU requirements.
