Call of Duty: Warzone Lags Again Due to DDoS Attacks
Activision has just released Call of Duty: Warzone two weeks ago. In addition to getting a lot of players since debut, it turns out that there are also several problems that developers have to deal with. One of them is when players have difficulty logging into their accounts due to server problems.
But recently, they’ve been having problems again. Warzone gamers again feel lag or slow, what happened? Check out his review below.
Attacked by DDoS
It is now confirmed that this was due to an ongoing Denial of Service (DDoS) attack against network providers targeting Blizzard and Activision. For now, the DDoS attacks seem to have been dealt with, so Call of Duty: Warzone players can get back to playing the game.
The first recorded attack was on Tuesday, March 17th. Everything has been fine since Call of Duty: Warzone launched a week earlier, but since the 17th, several other DDoSs have been happening publicly via Blizzard support accounts. These attacks have been carried out almost daily since, including Saturday, the 21st.
Saturday’s DDoS attack was recognized at around 3:00 pm PT. Blizzard announced less than half an hour later saying the raid appeared to be over. No justification for the DDoS attack has been provided, nor have the sources claimed the attack.
Not Only Impact for Warzone
From these attacks, it seems that it is not only COD Warzone that is affected. Other games under the Battle.net umbrella are also experiencing the same thing. As of now, no one knows if Blizzard will soon be dealing with more attacks.
Actually this attack is so heartbreaking. At a time when people are spending more time at home due to the Coronavirus pandemic, they should be able to pass the time by playing games. From the data obtained, the number of players from Activision’s new battle royale game has reached 30 million.
Hopefully there won’t be another DDoS attack that befalls Warzone or other games. Have you tried playing Warzone? Don’t forget to share your impressions in the comments column.
