Capcom Named the Best Publisher of 2022 by Metacritic Version!
Do you guys know? Review site Metacritic has finally announced their 9th annual publisher award. And in the end, Capcom who has the right to be the best publisher in the world in 2022.
To enter the criteria as the best publisher is not easy, you know, the criteria to enter as the best publisher candidate is that a large publisher has released at least 12 games in that year. There are 4 factors that become the assessment, as follows below.
- Average Metascore for all games released in 2022
- % of scored products with good reviews (Metascore of at least 75)
- % of scored products with bad reviews (49 or lower; in this case, a lower % is better)
- Number of “great” titles (Metascore of 90 or higher, min. 7 reviews)
How can Capcom win? Yes, this is mainly supported by Monster Hunter: World which is the main key to Capcom’s victory. This is of course also supported by positive reviews from Mega Man 11 and several remastered games such as Devil May Cry HD Collection and Okami HD.
It is undeniable that Capcom is indeed the best publisher at the moment, especially the game they recently released, Resident Evil 2 Remake, was a huge success. And in March, Devil May Cry 5 will finally be released. So, let’s wait, this is going to get really interesting later.
