Fortnite Will Use DirectX12 For The Future

Fortnite Competitive

With support DirectX 12 slowly became the rule for PC gaming, and now players have to prepare it for the game Fortnite. As rumored, the next update to Fortnite will allow the game to use DirectX12 support.

Epic Games explained this decision in a blog post on November 18. They said that in order to add existing features in the future, an upgrade to DX12 was necessary.

“In the future, we plan to add features to Fortnite that require DX12 assistance,”

Fortnite is now starting to require more powerful hardware. DirectX12 is currently recommended for players with decent hardware. This is because DirectX12 can take advantage of better graphics features that may not be available on low-end devices.

Fortnite Players Are Forced To Upgrade Their GPUs For New Features Later

Many games have the option to switch between DX11 and DX12, and it looks like Fortnite will have a similar option. Players must opt-in, and Epic needs players who can provide valuable information such as in-game bugs, so that they can be addressed immediately.

The interesting part of the whole post is that Fortnite has more features going forward that require a more powerful PC to implement. Players have been forced to upgrade their GPU before, and now they are forced to upgrade it once again.

It will be very interesting for us to wait, what will be presented again by Epic to make the quality of Fortnite better.
