Evolution Championship Series 2022 Ready to Rock Las Vegas
As we know, it feels like just yesterday that we saw the world’s fighting game champions compete for agility at EVO 2022. However, now the EVO committee is getting ready to hold the upcoming EVO 2022.
It is known that the committee has just uploaded a trailer on YouTube confirming the holding of this event, along with the exact date and location.
As in previous years, EVO 2022 will be back at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Las Vegas, to be precise on 31 July – 2 August 2022.

To date, EVO has delivered a lot of drama and is the venue for some of the most legendary matches each year. In the 2022 edition, EVO managed to bring out a new champion named Arslan “Arslan Ash” Siddique who successfully shocked Tekken 7.
List of Games Predicted to Still Survive at EVO 2022
Many think that this announcement came too early because there is still more than half a year before EVO 2022 is held.
This makes the organizers unable to reveal what fighting games they will present, although it will not be much different from the previous editions, such as:
However, it is possible that EVO will add or replace some games with new games to be released such as: Granblue Fantasy Versus (February 2022), new Guilty Gear (tentative 2022), and The King of Fighters XV (tentative 2022).
It could be that one of these games will appear as a menu on the main stage, depending on whether the developers released it before or after EVO.
New Rules About Using Controller
Unlike the previous EVO, in EVO 2022 this time there are new rules regarding the use of controllers. After the controversy surrounding the hit box type controller, some time ago the EVO committee announced a revision of the rules that finally legalized the controller.
These include the Gafrobox used by Daigo Umehara, the Cross|Up hit box which has mixed directional input, and the Smash Box specially designed for Super Smash Bros players.
But one thing that is most important, before EVO 2022 officially rolls, will still be there events EVO Japan 2022 which will be held on January 24 – 26. Mid-October, EVO Japan has announced a list of five main games that will be competed later, namely:
- BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
- Samurai Shodown
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- Soulcalibur VI
- Tekken 7
The EVO Japan 2022 event will be held at the Makuhari Messe building, Chiba city, which has a capacity of up to 9,000 visitors. Compared to EVO Japan 2022 which was held at the Fukuoka Kokusai Center, the Makuhari Messe building is indeed slightly smaller.
But its location on the outskirts of Tokyo can provide easier access, than the city of Fukuoka which is located at the southern tip of Japan.
EVO 2022 marks the 15th year of EVO’s presence in Las Vegas since it was first held in the city in 2005. EVO itself will turn 24 years old, if we count since it was first introduced under the name Battle by the Bay in 1996 ago.
