Resident Evil 2 Remake Passes Original Sales Amount!
Capcom has shared total sales figures for the game Resident Evil 2 Remake. And sure enough, this remake of Resident Evil 2 sold more than the original game. The company also said that the growth and sales of the game for the remake was very positive.
In a press release sent out today, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil 2 Remake has sold over five million copies. These figures are as of December 4, 2022. In February 2022, Capcom said that the game had sold over four million copies worldwide.

On the Platinum Titles page on the Capcom site it says that Resident Evil 2 has sold 4.94 million copies on PlayStation. When it was released in 1998, it became the best-selling game in North America at the time.
The combined sales of Resident Evil 2 Remake and the original Resident Evil 2 also make it the best-selling game in the Resident Evil series. Total sales for the two games were 10 million copies, surpassing the 7.5 million copies sold for Resident Evil 5.
