Sony Shares Full Specifications of PlayStation 5
PlayStation 5 is indeed one of the most anticipated next-gen consoles along with Microsoft’s Xbox Series X. Over the past few months, we’ve been getting updates about Sony’s consoles, but no full specs have been shared yet. We’ve got some interesting facts that might make fans even more enthusiastic.
Hearing appreciation from fans, Sony has finally officially shared the complete specifications of the PlayStation 5 through a presentation titled ‘Road to PS5’. So, what components will be in the grim console? Let’s discuss it below.
PlayStation 5 Specifications
The PS5 will feature a dedicated 8-core AMD Zen 2 CPU clocked at 3.5GHz (variable frequency). The dedicated GPU used is based on a promising 10.28 teraflops AMD RDNA 2 hardware architecture and 36 computers clocked at 2.23GHz (also variable frequency).
The device also has 16GB of GDDR6 RAM and a dedicated 825GB SSD that Sony previously promised would offer super-fast loading times in gameplay,
Not only that, the PS5 will also have support for USB hard drives, but slower storage options because it uses the design used for the backward-compatible PS4. Plus there will be 4K Blu-ray drives and disc support, but those games will still require installation to the internal SSD.
The dedicated SSD inside uses a standard NVMe SSD, there is still a possibility that it will be upgraded in the future. But at least this Sony standard SSD will have a speed of 5.5 GB / s.
