Sony will buy 3 giant games from Konami

Every game studio often competes between them. There are times when some games are transferred to other developers so that the game can continue to develop. Moreover, many large game studios take the potential of new games and even acquire the developers directly.

But the latest news says that there are several Konami flagship games that will be pulled to Sony. What games are they? Check the reviews below.

Sony will buy three Konami games

Konami

In January, an anonymous 4Chan user claiming to be a Konami employee stated that Sony wanted to buy the Metal Gear, Silent Hill, and Castlevania franchises to make a series of PS5 exclusive titles.

According to the post, Sony is eager to remake Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Those two games are indeed big names from a series that was launched more than 20 years ago, and was worked on by Hideo Kojima as well.

In addition, the company also wants to make a soft reboot for Silent Hill and may also involve Kojima. The upcoming team may include Keiichiro Toyama, creator of the Silent Hill and Siren series for survival horror games, and Ikumi Nakamura, Concept Artist of The Evil Within 1 and 2.

Meanwhile, Castlevania already has a very mature plan. Sony will reunite Koji Igarashi and Shutari Iida, two developers who have worked on several games in the franchise. This reboot will be developed by Sony Japan and improve the Bloodborne 3D style for the series.

Still Just Rumors, But Very Strong

Yes, like most news circulating on forums like 4Chan or Reddit, this news can of course only be rumors. You can’t take this news into your hands. But previously there had been similar news shared by other sources.

In November 2022, Hideo Kojima posted on Twitter: “To make the scariest horror game, I will watch scary movies to awaken my horror soul.” With Kojima co-working on old games, many fans are hoping he’ll be back with a new horror title (or an old title made anew).

Masahiro Ito who is also the artist of the first four Silent Hill games said, “I’m working on the title as a core member. I hope the title doesn’t get canceled.” Many of the fans said that the game they were working on was Silent Hill.

So, what do you think about the three Konami games that Sony might buy? Give your feedback below.
