Will Cyberpunk 2077 Be Postponed Due to Corona?

Lately, we’ve been getting a lot of news about games that had to be postponed due to the Corona pandemic. One of the hottest things right now is the game made by Naughty Dog, The Last of Us Part 2. Sony itself as the publisher is issuing an official announcement that the game will be postponed again and no definite schedule has been given.

While hearing such bad news, of course, many fans have asked whether other games have experienced the same thing. But fortunately, one of the most anticipated games of the year is sure to be released without any delays.

Good news comes for Cyberpunk 2077 fans. The developer of this game, CD Projekt RED has just given a positive update saying that there will be no more delays. Indeed the workers are polishing this game from their respective homes because of the coronavirus, but they are sure that Cyberpunk 2077 is ready to launch next September.

As reported by Gamerant, CD Projekt RED CEO Adam Kicinski said that the studio’s plans for a Cyberpunk 2077 release date “have not changed.” They intend to release Cyberpunk 2077 in September, as announced and the team feels “motivated and have the necessary tools at our disposal to meet this goal.”

Kicinski also said that “the company’s long-term strategy of avoiding debt and accumulating cash reserves makes us ready to face any difficulties that may arise during this difficult time.”

Game Ready for Rating

At the same time, the head of the studio at CD Projekt RED Adam Badowski, also tweeted to confirm that the game had been rated “by the majority of rating boards worldwide” after it was submitted in March. In Japan, the CERO board game rating is currently being closed due to COVID-19 and this could cause some game delays in the region. However, this all suggests that Cyberpunk 2077 will be ready and rated for September.

This rating by the rating board could also hint that the game will not have content updates until its release. As previously stated, the delay of Cyberpunk 2077 itself does have the purpose of polishing the game to make it better.

Hopefully this can be good news for fans who have waited so long and no bad news suddenly comes. How do you feel about this news? Don’t forget to comment below.
