Capcom Will Create a New Monster Hunter Game?

Some time ago, an Internal Revenue (IR) shareholder meeting was held. In the meeting Capcom confirmed that there are no plans to move Monster Hunter World to Nintendo Switch. But interestingly, in the same discussion, Capcom had confirmed that they had plans to make a new Monster Hunter game.

They also confirmed that the new game from Monster Hunter can later be enjoyed by children of middle school age and below. But this news has not been officially announced from Capcom, there is still a possibility that the news will be different when the official announcement later. So far we know that the game will be suitable for younger players to play.

Regarding the game, many are of the opinion that it will be a spin-off rather than the official entry. Given that the game will be able to be played by children, there will certainly be a reduction in the portion of violence that is introduced into the game. The spin-off is an alternative that will be presented by the developer, if a complete new series may be a little impossible.

Besides, it seems Monster Hunter World this was not planned by Capcom for the Switch. Although the popularity of the Switch is quite high, Capcom is still reluctant to bring games to the console. Monster Hunter was last at Switch in 2022 namely Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. Although not present on the Switch, Monster Hunter World is quite popular on other platforms.

Monster Hunter has been getting that content update since its release. One of the most interesting is the fourth expansion Monster Hunter World: Iceborne which will get its latest update on 9 July. Previously this update was going to be released earlier than the current schedule, it’s just that the Coronavirus pandemic forced the developers to delay its release.

In addition to in-game updates, Monster Hunter will also feature films that fans can enjoy. The live-action Monster Hunter film, directed by Paul WS Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich, is currently slated for release on September 4. It will be very interesting to see how the results of the film adapted from a game will be.
