Compete Cyberpunk 2077, Tencent Creates FPS-Open World Game Titled SYN

Maybe right now, gamers’ eyes are on CD Projekt Red’s game, Cyberpunk 2077. Moreover, a few moments ago, a new developer shared some details including size settings and variants of genital hair. But this time we will turn to a game developer from China, namely Tencent.

Exactly yesterday, Tencent just held an annual event and introduced a new game that has the same tone as Cyberpunk 2077. Titled Code: SYN, the game also has a futuristic style and has very similar mechanics to the next game. Is there any collaboration between Tencent and CD Projekt Red? Let’s discuss it together.

Made by Lightspeed & Quantum Studios

SYN is an FPS-Open World game currently being worked on by Lightspeed & Quantum Studios. As we know, this Tencent subsidiary is indeed famous since they worked on PUBG Mobile.

Back to the game, during the conference it was discovered that SYN would be released for PC and Console. But there’s still no further information on which console it will go to – whether it will be present in the next generation console or not. For now, Tencent will most likely release this game globally. They will also market this game to North America and Europe.

From the trailer above, we can see some of the features that will be presented in this game. Indeed, the graphics offered are not as high as Cyberpunk 2077, but the display of the technology demo is quite similar to this CD Projekt game.

There is no cooperation between Tencent and CD Projekt Red

Meanwhile, it is known that Tencent is not currently collaborating with CD Projekt Red. In that sense, this SYN game will have no relationship at all with Cyberpunk 2077. This game seems to be still in development and may get an upgrade when it is released later. As of this writing, it is still unknown when this game will be released.

If asked whether this game is plagiarism? We feel that the same theme is about Cyberpunk, but that doesn’t mean Tencent is completely cheating on the CD Projekt game. Plus, we still haven’t seen how the gameplay is offered by SYN.

So, what do you think about this new game by Tencent? Don’t forget to comment below.
