Monster Hunter World PC Version Will Get Release Date and System Requirements This Afternoon

Capcom is finally ready to share more details about the PC version of Monster Hunter World. According to the official Monster Hunter Twitter account we’ll get the release date and system requirements information for the PC version of Monster Hunter World today.

PC players were thrilled when Capcom launched their newest Monster Hunter title and announced that Monster Hunter World is no longer aimed at the aging Nintendo 3DS, but will be focusing on much more powerful consoles and PCs. Aspiring players on PC were hoping for a simultaneous release but as it is often with PC ports, a release schedule was announced between the console release and the PC version, so the development team could focus on polishing each version to a high standard.

Monster Hunter Still Takes A Little Time To Deliver A Truly Great PC Experience

In an interview with Games Radar via PC Gamer starting April this year, game producer Ryozo Tsujimoto explained their decision to delay the PC version by stating that the team had not worked on a PC title before, so they wanted to take the time to give it their best shot.

For a major Monster Hunter game, this is our first PC title and it’s something we wanted to make sure we got right. […] We will take some extra time and try to get the best PC version possible. There’s some extra work we need for the PC too. On consoles, you first need matchmaking to enter it, whether it’s PSN or Xbox Live, but on PC we have to work a lot more to make our matchmaking work. So, hopefully, PC users won’t mind waiting a little longer for us to bring you a truly great and optimized PC experience.

It’s been more than half a year since PS4 and Xbox One users had the chance to play Monster Hunter World, while PC players were waiting for news about their platform of choice. Now, the time has come. Monday, July 9 at 9 am PT or around 4 PM UTC area. Capcom will share detailed information on the release date and minimum system requirements for Monster Hunter World on PC.
