Parents Hire Fortnite Coaches To Help Their Kids Become Professional Players
It’s not uncommon to see parents hiring coaches for their kids in sports like football or baseball. However, it seems that the practice has now spilled over into the realm of eSports, as parents have started hiring Fortnite coaches to help their kids with the popular fighting game. Given the recent $130,000 tournament, it’s no surprise that parents are investing in their kids’ hobbies.
Additionally, it’s a rather simple process, as trainers can be found on social media or contract sites like Gamer Sensei and Bidvine, which state that more than 1,400 Fortnite trainers have been hired since early March. The rate depends on the coach, but the consensus seems to be around $15-20 per hour to $50 for coaching for 3-4 hours.
Of course, some parents also hire coaches for themselves, so they can play at a competitive level with their kids, as Twitch’s Adrian Luff of San Macros, Texas, states,
Not dying in the first two minutes would be nice.
Regardless of the reason parents hire coaches, Fortnite training seems like a good way to help kids who aren’t the best at the popular game. Because some kids reported solo wins of the week and others threw in double wins when Victory Royale was elusive beforehand.
The eSports Gaming Industry is the World’s Fastest Growing Entertainment Industry
Considering the popular Nile Streamer making huge sums of money playing battle royale games, it makes sense that parents would support their kids who want to grow up to be professional players. Some even argue that it is not much different from parents helping their children become professional athletes.
As it happens, a recent study showed that pro players could quickly earn more money than professional athletes. The gaming industry especially eSports is the fastest growing entertainment industry in the world. This growth promotes a large playground, which attracts sponsors, advertisers, and media giants such as Coca-Cola, Red Bull, and Samsung.
However, some parents and gamers may not like the idea of hiring a coach for video games. Fortnite is now available on iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
