Reasons Why Dark Soul Developers Don't Provide Difficulty Options in Their Games

Dark Souls known for its “god” difficulty level. Not many people can defeat the enemy without experiencing such a thing as defeat. But it’s because it’s too difficult that makes Dark Souls so loved by fans. But not a few people are confused, why From Software as the developer of Dark Souls does not provide an Option to Set the Difficulty Level in their game.

To answer that question, Director FromSoftware – Hidetaka Miyazaki explained the reason why they didn’t put a difficulty option in their game.

Reasons Why Developers Reluctant to Add Difficulty Options in Dark Souls

Sekiro From Software

Through an interview that Dafunda Games quoted from Gamespot, Miyazaki explained that From Software intentionally didn’t add a Difficulty Level setting in Dark Soul. Because they want players to be able to experience challenges with the same level of difficulty, so there is no difference between one player and another. So that the player can play Dark Souls in his own way.

With the same level of difficulty, of course players can feel extraordinary achievements. Because the Dark Souls he plays are just as “difficult” as other people play. Because that’s the attraction of the game that brought up the name of the company that is Miyazaki Nahkodai. Because that’s their newest Game – Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will carry the same mode as Dark Souls, namely without the option to change the level of difficulty.

Miyazaki also promised the newest game they were working on, Sekiro would be more challenging than Dark Souls. This game is also not part of the Soulborne series. We’ll just have to wait and see how the new game will do, can it beat the popularity of Dark Souls?
