The Benefits Microsoft Gets When Joining Facebook Gaming!
Currently Mixer is arguably one of the most well-known streaming platforms besides Twitch to YouTube. Even though the service is known to be less than one year old. However, some time ago, Microsoft officially announced that its streaming service would be closed and switched to Facebook Facebook Gaming.
In response to this, many speculations state that Microsoft Series X seems to be familiar with Facebook Gaming. This is inseparable from the collaboration that Microsoft and Facebook Gaming recently established.
The news about the closing of Mixer made some of the Streamers at Mixer very surprised. The reason is, if they also had to move to Facebook Gaming, of course they had to start everything from scratch.
The Reason Mixer Moved To Facebook Gaming

This surprising announcement is accompanied by advice Microsoft for users and their Mixer streamers to switch to the Facebook gaming streaming service. Within the next month, starting July 22, to be exact, all Mixer apps and sites will be automatically redirected to Facebook Gaming.
Since being unveiled in 2022 by Microsoft, Mixer doesn’t seem to live up to Microsoft’s expectations and lags far behind Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook Gaming. This is what makes Microsoft seem to have to clean up and cooperate with Facebook Gaming.
“When we compare Mixer’s monthly active viewership against some of the other big platforms, we’re way behind. I think the Mixer community would benefit from the broad coverage that Facebook has, they are able to reach players in a very seamless way through the social platform it has.”
Microsoft game chief Phil Spencer told The Verge
What are the benefits of Mixer by moving to Facebook Gaming?
If we refer to the release schedule Next-Gen console Microsoft’s Xbox Series X, this console will be released this holiday season. As such, the next generation of Microsoft consoles may be launching with the addition of the Facebook Gaming service for those who want to stream on those consoles.
Collaborating with Facebook Gaming certainly allows Microsoft to dedicate its resources to not only create Xbox Series X success. But also focus on streaming services.
As is known, Microsoft is currently developing “Project xCloud”. Project xCloud is a beta game streaming service that uses the power of Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure to stream Xbox games to Android devices. Therefore, the collaboration is believed to be able to help the development of Project xCloud.

Based on the information shared, Project xCloud is planned to be fully released towards the end of the year and will be bundled into the Xbox Game Pass service. The Verge reports that xCloud will provide the option to play the game you’re currently watching. Such a feature was introduced by the game streaming platform, “Google Stadia”.
By establishing a partnership with Facebook Gaming, Microsoft hopes that this will make it easier to develop the xCloud Project. It will be interesting to see how this collaboration will work in the future. Therefore, make sure you continue to monitor Game Funda for more information.
