After the Slashing of Sports at the 2022 SEA Games, what will happen to the athletes and officials?

Recently, news about cutting sports for the 2022 Vietnam SEA Games has been widely discussed. Of course the decision of the team review The PPON of the Ministry of Youth and Sports has a certain impact, especially on athletes and management who have worked hard during yesterday’s selection.

From the results of the interview, the manager said that he and several colleagues had their own problems after the decision to cut. Overall, the feeling of disappointment that enveloped the most of all.

How come? He had great intentions to defend the country but ultimately failed to leave because there was a decision to cut sports. Moreover, this regulation did not come from the organizers, namely the SEA Games Organizing Committee (SEAGOC).

The manager said that he had sacrificed a lot in terms of time, energy, and priorities. He has worked and finally chose resign in order to focus on preparation for the 2022 Vietnam SEA Games.

“Before I worked in a company, but finally chose resign there are also those who choose to take time off from work because they want to focus on Pelatnas. The problem is that while undergoing the National Training, you have to move here and there, so it’s difficult to spend time while working,” said the manager.

Speaking of compensation, then what happens to the people who don’t officially leave? The manager and several colleagues are working on it. He feels that the sacrifices that have been given should be compensated at least as a form of appreciation from the government.

“The reason why we dare to leave or resign that’s because at the beginning you already got the info there will be some kind of compensation for official. But so far there has been no bright spot. But we are still working on it. Unfortunately, we are weak at “black on white” so we have to put in more effort and good luck.”

Not only for esports, trimming sports where athletes are preparing will definitely have a big impact. It is difficult for all parties, including the PPON Kemenpora itself. However, both parties should find the best solution so that no one feels disadvantaged.
