AKB48 Not Invited NHK Kouhaku, JKT48 Almost Disbanded
Less interesting news came from Japan, AKB48 will not attend the prestigious annual NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen 2022 event in December. This is of course a big disappointment for 48 Group and all my friends who are waiting for that moment.
Yes, because it wasn’t just AKB48, but 48 other families both from inside and outside Japan that didn’t get an invitation. NHK Kohaku is the dream music program for all musicians in Japan.
In fact, because of the high prestige, all musical groups, singers, artists, musicians competed to score achievements throughout the year so that they could appear and make everyone they can be proud of, such as family, friends and fans.
This year, around 42 musicians, both boy bands, idol groups, solo singers, and bands were invited to the 71st NHK Kouhaku Utagassen. Some of them include the Sakamichi Series namely Nogizaka46, Sakurazaka46 and Hinatazaka46.
The absence of the names of AKB48 and 48 other groups makes the record 10 years in a row now disappear. Yes, AKB and its sister group managed to make history performing on NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen from 2009 until the end of 2022.
Expressions of disappointment are scattered on social media. Former member of SNH48 and SKE48, Miyazawa Sae expressed his opinion regarding the non-invitation of AKB48 Group.
The woman who is now a model for gravure magazine said that AKB48 must introspect and improve to be able to appear on NHK again next year.
“I just checked the participating red and white teams. But… well, that’s okay. I think this should be a turning point so that everyone can bounce back. Everything has its time.” said Sae Miyazawa.
For the Sakamichi Group itself, the three groups are in the red team (Red Team). Indeed, you could say 48 Group is not in its good times, maybe for many other groups as well.
Moreover, JKT48 also had to do a restructuring which required them to reduce the number of members and staff. Canceled the debut of all 10th generation members.
In addition, SGO48 in Saigon was forced to postpone the massive opening of the SGO Station theater indefinitely and postpone the audition for recruiting new members which should have taken place.
There are times when all 48 Group members remember the words of Yasushi Akimoto, the founder of AKB48, several years ago sending messages to 48 Family members.
“Maybe you realize that recently Nogizaka46 and Keyakizaka46 have had better momentum. But you (AKB48 Group) still have a theater, you have to do your best there (theater).” he said.
As if to emphasize that all AKB48 Group personnel must not forget their origins and can always take advantage of existing advantages. Moreover, the Sakamichi Series is indeed a different concept and does not have its own theater compared to the entire 48 Group.
