AKB48 Ready To Fight Against Nogizaka46 Through New TV Show
When it was formed almost 11 years ago, if you don’t know, Nogizaka46 was projected to be AKB48’s strong rival. That’s what the producer of the two groups, Yasushi Akimoto, said.
The beginning of Nogizaka’s formation was not very popular. In fact, many people laughed at them because they were considered too new to be compared to the big names of AKB48 at that time.
But over time, Nogizaka46 slowly managed to attract public interest. Their concept, which is much different from AKB48, makes J-Pop fans turn their attention to this first edition of the Sakamichi Series group.
Nogizaka46 can now be said to be on par with AKB48, even on several occasions they are said to outperform AKB. Like getting an award that his rival rarely gets.
When Nogizaka46, Keyakizaka46 (Sakurazaka46) and Hinatazaka46 were invited to the prestigious annual NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen 2022 event, AKB48 actually failed to appear because they did not receive an invitation and at the same time stopped the group’s record of 9 consecutive years attending the program.
Now Nogizaka46 is considered more successful and stable despite the abandonment of a number of its pillar members. While AKB48, since the graduation of mainstay members such as Kojima Haruna, Takahashi Minami and Watanabe Mayu, it seems to be like vegetables without gravy.
Until finally, at Minegishi Minami’s graduation concert, a sentence appeared. “After being coup by Nogizaka46 for years, the new generation of AKB48 is ready to fight back against Nogizaka46.”
Apparently it’s a teaser for a TV program entitled “Nogizaka ni Kosaremashita AKB48 Daigyakushu” which will only air in July 2022. The title alone confirms the name Nogizaka46 even though it actually stars AKB48 Group personnel.
With the release of Minami Minegishi, AKB48’s old era has ended and has turned to a new face who is ready to bring AKB up from adversity & return to its former glory.
