Seriously Developing Indonesian Athletes, PBESI Forms Garudaku Esports Academy

Last Thursday (24/3), PBESI held a press conference related to the inauguration of one of their newest programs. Garudaku will become an esports academy under the auspices of PBESI, in order to build an Indonesian esports ecosystem that has achievements and character.

The event was attended by several people. First, there is Andrew Tobias as PBESI Deputy Head of Public Relations. Then there is Robertus Aditya Satrio Utomo, who is the chairman of the Garudaku esports academy.

Apart from being attended by parties directly involved in the world of esports, this event was also attended by parties outside of esports. For example, there is Ajeng Raviando, who is an expert in psychology. Then there is Debora Imanuella, as Vice President of UniPin. Finally, there was Gary Anderson, from Marie Joseph’s school who attended from the world of education.

Andrew started his statement by saying that Garudaku aims to produce new esports talents from Indonesia. Early childhood development is one of the important points of PBESI, therefore Garudaku will build various collaborations with the world of education.

Andrew added that this academy is here to support the development of esports athletes in Indonesia. To become an esports athlete who excels on the world stage, you need a variety of things soft skills owned by athletes. For example, such as leadership, the ability to make decisions, and work together in a team.

Meanwhile, Robertus said that the Garudaku esports academy is a facility created by PBSI. This academy is present as an extracurricular activity for students in high school or university.

He added that this academy is expected to exist not only to create professional athletes, but also to create a healthier esports ecosystem so that it can become an industry or career opportunity in the future.

Support is also provided from parties outside of esports. Ajeng said, from a psychological point of view, esports athletes can be role models for children. Gary added, from the world of education, the presence of this academy can have a positive impact on the development of his students. Finally, Debora added that UniPin is committed to being at the forefront to help build the esports ecosystem in Indonesia.
