Sony Stops Sales of Games and Playstations in Russia

The Russian attack on Ukraine, of course, had a huge domino effect. Several companies have also boycotted their products so they are not sold in Russia. Sony, recently also stopped selling its products in Russia.

This was revealed by Sony on Thursday (10/3) this morning. Sony via its official twitter account announced their disappointment with the attack carried out by Russia:

They also decided to stop shipping software and hardware to Russia, stop launch Gran Turismo game in Russia, on and off the service Playstation Store for the territory of Russia.

They donated 2 million US Dollars (28.5 billion Rupiah) which will be given to international institutions dealing with the conflict. There are at least three institutions that they mention, namely UNHCR, international NGOs, and organizations Save the Children.

Sony itself is not the first technology company to express its support for Russia. Previously, Microsoft had stopped selling their products in Russia. Microsoft also participated to provide donations for victims of the war in Ukraine.
