MENKOMINFO Comment About Mobile Legends Players Who Rarely Use Indonesian Heroes
The Minister of Communication and Information or commonly known as MENKOMINFO, Rudiantara quipped Mobile Legend players who rarely use Indonesian characters, namely Gatotkaca. Rudiantara said this sentence at the Opening of the Southeast Asia Cyber Arena (SEACA), in Jakarta, Wednesday (17/10).
At the event, Rudiantara also revealed that most Mobile Legends players prefer foreign characters like Hanabi. He still understands this because he assumes that ML players in Indonesia are still not familiar with local characters.
“It’s okay, at first they still used foreign characters because they weren’t used to Indonesian characters, one day someone used them,” said Rudiantara.
Considering that recently eSports has become increasingly popular in Indonesia, the government has started to support the development of games in Indonesia. From the Kominfo side, the government provides support in the form of fast internet infrastructure development.
In addition, Rudiantara has proposed a proposal to the Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi so that gamers can become official athletes at the 2022 Asian Games in Hang Zhou, China. This is done to support the development of games and eSports that are more serious.
