Startling!!! Dota 2 and Mobile Legends are not included in the 2022 Asian Games branch
In August, Indonesia will host the 2022 Asian Games which will be held in Jakarta-Palembang. Uniquely, in this year’s grand event there is new branch, namely E-Sports. E-Sports itself has the meaning of Electronic Sports, which is a term for multi-player video game competitions, generally between professional players. The genres of video games that are usually associated with e-sports are Real-Time Strategy, Fighting, Shooter, and player combat.
In the performance of the E-Sports branch, it is still at the exhibition stage, which means it cannot donate medals like other branches. So it’s still in the testing phase and if successful, the E-Sports branch will become official at the 2022 Asian Games. And uniquely here, the organizers have announced 6 Game Titles that will be part of the 2022 Asian Games. The 6 games are: League of Legends, Arena of Valor, Clash Royale, Pro Evolution Soccer, Hearthstone, and Starcraft.

And the most surprising thing is that famous games like DOTA 2 and Mobile Legends are not included in the list. Why is that so? This turned out to have been agreed by the organizers in the election, so the decision had been taken carefully through consideration. No wonder LoL and AoV fall into that category. Because compared to DOTA2, LoL is more popular in the Asian region. Likewise, AoV is quite popular in Asia while ML is only crowded in Indonesia.
Finally, there is a Shooter genre game that does not have a representative at the 2022 Asian Games. The reason is because the organizers have regulations that prohibit types of games that have elements of violence and things that lead to terrorism.
