In his statement, Hiddleston leaked that Marvel had deliberately introduced LGBTQ+ elements into its series as a form of support for the LGBTQ+ community around the world.

“Back from my early days researching characters in ancient myths, Loki’s identity is fluid in every aspect and in gender, in sexuality. It’s a very ancient part of the character and I think I think it doesn’t show up in the story we tell,” said Tom Hiddleston.

He also admitted that he was very happy with his role, where Loki was told as someone who likes women and men at the same time, aka bisexual.

“And I’m really happy and special, actually, that it appears in the series. This is a small step. There are many things to do. But the Marvel Cinematic Universe has to reflect the world we live in. So, it’s an honor to bring it up. That’s very important to me. It was so important to (director) Kate Herron and (showrunner) Michael Waldron, and I’m delighted we can bring it into our story.”
