After hacking into a training simulator, players arrive in an underground city filled with shooters, drones, and several insect-like creatures that can be likened to computer viruses. After completing the city map, the player arrives at the “base” map (described in-game as an abandoned mining site in an alien colony). Go through the 6th floor to reach the kernel and defeat the boss in this level. After passing through the base, the player completes Sector 1 by passing through “Ruins”. Unlike the last map, this map contains insect and plant enemies, making it look like an Egyptian or Aztec-like environment.

Players take on the role of various heroes from the Medal of Honor series. There are three different campaigns, each with their own heroes who spearhead the team to reach their goals. These heroes are Lieutenant Jimmy Patterson, the original star of Medal of Honor and Medal of Honor: Frontlines, Sergeant John Baker from Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Breakthrough, and Lieutenant William Holt from Medal of Honor: European Assault. The campaign took place in Italy, Holland and Belgium.

Players assume the role of Lieutenant John Berg, an operative in the Bureau of Strategic Services. The game has him eight missions (in the PSP version he has seven) and is set against the backdrop of the Battle of Cherbourg. To aim, the player must “lock” onto the target with the R button and then shoot. The game has sniper rifles, assault rifles, machine guns, explosive attachments, ballistic weapons, and grenades.

The story of the game takes place in 1937 EC, two years after the conclusion of Valkyria Chronicles, when the 7th Squad defeated Maximilian in Gallia and destroyed Marmotus, ending the war between Gallia and the Imperial Alliance. A rebel group of disaffected nobles and like-minded soldiers and citizens called themselves the Gallic Revolutionary Army, starting the Gallic Civil War and campaigning for ethnic cleansing against Gauls of the Darxen line.

Players assume the roles of Gabe Logan and the occasional Lian Singh, becoming special operatives for a government secret agent. The open feeling of the previous work returns to linear gameplay.
