How to Make Automatic Numbering (Sequential Number) in Excel

  • First, type the number one in the table column, then click menu Fill that’s on the tab Editing on the right, and select Series to set the serial number in order.

  • Then in the settings, select column And set Stop Value according to the desired number. (For example, if you want to make a serial number from 1 – 50, enter the number 50 in the Stop Value column. Click OK to save.

After following the method above, the serial numbers will be sorted automatically without manual typing.
