How to Speed Up Downloads Using IDM

Yo, who is not familiar with this software, namely Internet Download Manager. IDM is a software manager that helps us download files. The speed also depends on our connection, but the following tips can increase download speeds on IDM by 100 – 200 Kbps. Even though it’s not that big, but it’s pretty good, right?

So, how do you speed up the download process?

1. Open your IDM, if you don’t have it, please download it on Google

2. Click on the “Options/Options” section

3. Select the “Connection” tab then adjust as shown below. For the “Number of standard max con.” section, you can change it according to your connection speed. For standards 16 – 32, it is recommended that a connection speed of 2 Mbps and above is recommended.

4. You can also speed up the download process by setting up the Proxy, on the “Proxy/Socks” tab. To fill in the column, you need a proxy code, which you can get on Google.

5. Now, in addition to the end of the article, I will give several reasons for the slow download process:

  • File Download Site Server, examples of download sites like Google drive, mediafire, zippy, etc. Now the download site has a server, which on some download sites, the network in Indonesia has not been able to access the server, so that during the download process your internet speed will drop, usually to hundreds of kilobytes.
  • DNS usage, for those who have been looking for ways on the internet to speed up your connection, usually there will be a web that suggests using DNS. Well, sometimes there are those who work so that the internet immediately jumps high, but there are also those who cannot connect to the internet. After I read on several websites, some concluded that the more people who use the same DNS, the heavier the connection will be. So, it’s better not to use DNS at all, let alone Google’s DNS.
  • Viruses/Malware, sounds a little foreign to the ear, but it’s true. For PCs/laptops affected by low/moderate viruses/malware, of course you can still experience stable internet speed, but when the virus/malware starts to get dangerous and even damage the system, then when the virus damages from another PC to your PC, of course you will use the network, which is where to do this big thing of course requires a large network, so it will suck up your network so that your PC and internet are both slow.
