Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Gunfight Mode Is Back

Although fans have enjoyed the many multiplayer modes, Gunfight mode is the most popular in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Fans were thrilled when Infinity Ward announced that OSP (On Sight Procuration) would be back. However this mode is not optional which makes many players not suitable for this.

Earlier this week, Co-Design Director Joe Cecot confirmed that the original, non-OSP mode would indeed be returning. But the number of complaints from fans for not attending, Multiplayer Designer David Mickner also confirmed.

In response to a complaint from streamer Ninja, Mickner claims that Gunfight be right back. Mickner’s response to Ninja sparked backlash from other fans who believed it took someone like Ninja to get information like this.

Mickner assures them that’s not the case, he insists that this mode is always scheduled to return. He also hinted at the possibility of a new gunfight mode coming in the future.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Gunfight Mode Will Rely on Player Skills

Modern Warfare 3v3 And 1v1 Gunfight Modes In Work

Gunfight mode starts with the player getting a predefined choice of weapons. The OSP also forces players to pick up their weapons directly from the map. This is considered to add inconsistency as well as take away the competitive advantage of the original version.

Gunfight forces players to use their individual skills, because players can only use the same weapon from the start of the game. However the OP gives an advantage to who picks up a certain weapon first.

Infinity Ward also clarified that the gunfight mode will return, however there is no definite date yet when this mode will be present. There is information that says that this mode is scheduled for release on Wednesday this week. But there are also those who say that we will see it at Christmas celebrations later.
