PS5 and Xbox Series X Comparison, Who's Better?

Competition in the world of video games will heat up again. Sony and Microsoft have prepared their latest next-gen consoles next year. Xbox has announced their console called Xbox Series X.

The platform has a rectangular tower shape, like a PC. Meanwhile, Sony announced the PlayStation 5, but its true form has not been revealed until now despite many leaks circulating.

So, let’s take a look at the comparison between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X below.

Specification

Playstation 5 Facts

The new PlayStation and Xbox have very similar specs. They use the same chip, amount of memory, and level of storage. The console also still uses the game’s CD disc drive.

AMD Navi is the processor chosen to make the console faster. Plus, both use solid-state hard drives to reduce loading times.

Microsoft and Sony will include GDDR6 RAM for memory. Specifically, Sony says their PlayStation 5 will feature a Ryzen-based CPU from AMD.

Both consoles are expected to have the ability to produce 8K visuals and support for Ray Tracing.

Sony and Microsoft have revealed detailed specs for their consoles, but only a few of the new features are known. Until now, existing features make load times faster because the console uses an SSD.

Sony even demonstrated this feature in a video that shows a comparison of Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 with PS5. If Spider-Man takes more than 10 seconds to load on PS4, the PS5 only takes two or three seconds.

Then, the Xbox Series X and PS5 are also said to have new lighting features. Ray Tracing will make lighting textures more detailed in games.

The new console will get every game exclusive. When Microsoft announced the Xbox Series X, the Xbox CEO said they were “collaborating with many game studios to create exclusive games for Xbox Series X.”

Sensua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will be the first game released for this console. At a minimum, the new Xbox will get 15 games for each studio.

Meanwhile, Bethesda has announced The Elder Scrolls VI and Starfield are coming to PS5 and Xbox SX. Annual games like Call of Duty, FIFA, Assassin’s Creed arriving in 2022 will also come to the next generation of consoles.

Both consoles are planned to be released in the 2022 holiday season.
