PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Sold 4.7 Million Units on PC In June, The Crew 2 Sold 700K Digital Units
SuperData Arcade has shared its monthly report, claiming that thanks to Steam sales, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds sold 4.7 million units on PC in June, up significantly from May and its peak month in October 2022.
Additionally, SuperData claims that The Crew 2 sold 700,000 digital units on Console and PC at launch, and over 800,000 PC players purchased the new “Season” expansion for The Sims 4 in June, making it the second most successful expansion in the game after November “Cats and Dogs”.
Here are the key notes from the SuperData report:
- PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds gets a big boost from Steam sales. PUBG sold 4.7 million units for PC in June, up significantly from May and its peak month in October 2022. Growth was supported by a reduced price point of $19.99 on Steam.
- The Crew 2 sold 700,000 digital units on Console and PC at launch. The Crew 2 fell far short of the impressive launch of Far Cry 5 earlier this year, but digital sales outpaced the original The Crew due to the shift away from physical sales.
- The Sims 4 is still as strong as ever. We estimate that over 800,000 PC players purchased the new “Season” expansion for The Sims 4 in June, making it the second most successful game expansion after November’s “Cats and Dogs.” This is especially impressive considering The Sims 4 is approaching its fourth year.
- Call of Duty: WWII’s trajectory surpasses Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare but the lags of Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Additional content revenue from World War II rose significantly compared to last year’s IW due to the release of new DLC, but still couldn’t match BOIII’s “Zombies” DLC sales last June, even though BOIII was in its second year at the time.
