This means that Sony will not buy or merge a game studio if the action does not have a major impact on the company. Or we can imply that Sony has a more tactical approach in this regard.
However, fans still want Sony PlayStation to be able to do more mergers and acquisitions in the years to come. Sony previously also acquired Spider-Man developer Insomniac in 2022. This makes the game franchise Spider-Man is a PlayStation exclusive game.
Companies That Sony Must Acquire
Ever since Microsoft made its acquisition of Bethesda, fans have been exchanging ideas about what company Sony should acquire. Many have suggested for Sony to merge FromSoftware which is the developer of the Dark Souls game. Although there are several other potential names for Sony acquisitions.
