Survival Horror Game The Forest Gets PS4 Release Date

After releasing for PC in April this year, game fans are wondering when The Forest game will be coming to other platforms. Now, the studio has officially announced that PS4 owners will have the opportunity to play the game on the console later this fall starting November 6, 2022.

While the fact that The Forest is coming to PlayStation 4 should be interesting enough for fans of the survival-horror genre, Endnight Games has promised that the console iteration will also receive content not originally found on the PC version at launch. According to Anna Terekhova of Endnight Games, players can pair up as four daddies and work together to not only survive, but also find missing children.

The Forest Game Will Present Primitive Tribes Who Will Become Enemies

The Forest Release Date Ps4 Gameplay

For those who are unaware of The Forest and its premise, a father and son plane crash lands in the forest, and players take on the role of a father to stay alive and try to find his missing son. Survival with the elements is hard enough already, but Endnight has filled the game environment with distinctively primitive tribes lurking and hunting players like prey, with tribe members choosing to observe players from hiding places or directly attack them.

Without a doubt, survival games have evolved in many different ways and The Forest is another example of a developer trying to bring new ideas to the concept by adding his own uniqueness to the kind of gameplay one might expect from the genre. It should be noted that the PC version received a lot of critical acclaim upon launching on the platform.

The Forest is now available on PC, and will launch on November 6, 2022 for PlayStation 4.
