How to Overcome Blue Screen (BSOD) or Your PC Ran
BSOD or BlueScreen Of Death is a warning that usually appears on the Windows 7 operating system and below, while Your PC Ran is a warning that appears on the Windows 8 operating system and above, these two warnings are the same only the words and appearance are different, if this warning appears that means your computer or laptop is having problems. The problem itself is not certain, some are due to software or hardware.
How to deal with BSOD or YPR itself depends on the code that will be displayed on your screen when a BSOD or YPR occurs. Therefore, as soon as possible memorize or write down the code that is displayed, here I will give you a way to deal with some BSOD or YPR without that code.
1. Run the Sfc /Scannow command
By running this command, some error windows files will be fixed. But if the BSOD or YPR still occurs after performing this scan, it means that the hardware part of your computer or laptop is likely damaged. For this reason, this method still has little chance of overcoming BSOD or YPR.
2. Run Disk Repair With HDD Sentinel
HDD Sentinel is software that is useful for checking the details of the condition of the hard drive that we use, apart from checking, HDD Sentinel can also be used to repair damaged hard drives. But the story is different if the hardware is damaged, like the first method, of course this will also be useless, therefore, before running these 2 methods, you should first make sure that what makes the BSOD or YPR is not hardware.
3. Checking the Hardware Section
After making repairs to the files and software, the BSOD or YPR still occurs, so then check the hardware section. Hardware parts that are usually the cause of BSOD or YPR starting from the first order to the end, namely RAM, HDD, VGA, MoBo. The 4 pieces of hardware that I mentioned may not be the cause, but just in case.
4. Run the Chkdsk Command
Back again by dealing with files or software, this time using the chkdsk command, this command functions almost the same as using HDD Sentinel. This command will scan and repair files with bad sectors, so maybe that way the BSOD or YPR will also be resolved.
5. Reinstall Windows
If BSOD or YPR has entered a very severe stage, then every few minutes it is used or used to run certain programs it will BSOD or YPR, then another way is to reinstall Windows. However, as I said before, make sure that the BSOD or YPR problem is not hardware related, how do you check hardware or not? at least take these words, BSOD or YPR are very rare on the hardware front. That’s the word you will use if you really have to reinstall windows and believe that the BSOD or YPR problem will disappear, if it persists then the other possibility is indeed hardware.
6. Choose the Right VGA Driver
Sometimes BSOD or YPR can also be caused by installing drivers that don’t match the Operating System, especially the VGA Driver. Then how can we install the Driver version according to the OS we are using? First, find out how long your VGA driver supports Windows, for example, like the Intel GMA 3600, the driver doesn’t support Windows 10, so if you force it to be installed, problems like BSOD will occur or sometimes an error warning appears during the installation process. If you have difficulty determining this, it’s better for you to install the driver using the CD that was provided from the factory, and later you just need to update it so you don’t have to worry about BSOD or YPR anymore.
7. HDD Bad Sectors
Have you ever heard an HDD go “check, check, check” even if only a few times? Well, at that time it was also prone to BSOD, usually Bad Sectors caused by the computer shutting down suddenly (power failure), old age, PSU, heavy usage, etc. You can repair the Bad Sector, but there is no guarantee that it will return to normal, so it is recommended to replace the HDD with a new one immediately.
